3M Deliver Wizard Workshops to Primary Schools

3M has taken science on the road to deliver Visiting Wizards workshops to primary schools across the UK to inspire a love of science in the next generation.

The Visiting Wizards workshops promotes fun with classroom workshops that engage the pupils in hands-on activities. Visiting Wizards cover STEM  (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) topics.

During British Science Week 2023, 3M teams from various sites delivered a new workshop, The Crime Lab, to local schools. The Crime Lab introduces primary school pupils to forensic science. It gives them the chance to understand the principles of observation and creative thinking and experiment with fingerprint analysis and DNA.

Ross Beale, Optimised Operations Manufacturing Technology engineer from Skelmersdale, was one of the volunteers who ran the workshop at St Ann’s Church of England Primary School in Rainhill, Merseyside. He said: “The workshop went really well. The pupils enjoyed it thoroughly and they all got involved in the practical activities.”
