3M’s Young Scientist Challenge winners revealed

3M celebrates with winners and brings this year’s Young Scientist Challenge Final to a close.
Hundreds attended the glitzy closing ceremony of 3M’s 2022 Young Scientist Challenge. The event was also live streamed over Facebook.
This year Top Young Scientist was awarded to Leanne Fan. Leanne invented Finsen Headphones that can detect and treat mid-ear infection using machine learning and blue light therapy.
Congratulations also go to Harini Venkatesh who was voted this year’s Improving Lives Award winner! She developed The Comptometrist, a prototype designed to cut down the time needed to determine myopic power in a patient’s eyes. This will not only help report accurate measures of myopic power in seconds, eliminate crowding in clinics but also close the window of error in the eye examination process.
Read more about the winners and see their reactions over on the 3M Facebook page.
