Duracell launches new sustainable packaging

Battery maker Duracell has unveiled a major redesign of its packaging, replacing traditional plastic blister packs with fully paper-based alternatives in a move aimed at reducing environmental impact and improving customer experience.

The company’s new paper-based blister packs are easier for consumers to open and offer better storage convenience and shelving for retailers.

Since implementing the new packaging, outlets have reported higher sales and significantly cut stocking time in stores, which has helped increase operational efficiency.

As well as customer and retailer-improved experience, Duracell expects that its sustainability results from the packaging revamp will include a reduction in annual waste amounting to 26 million pounds, 60,000 fewer pallets shipped per year, and 1 million kilometers of transport each year avoided.
