Pentel to change its corporate name to Astrum

On 1 April 2026 our parent company Pentel Co. Ltd. will change its corporate name to ASTRUM CORPORATION. This development reflects the company’s pivotal role as part of the PLUS CORPORATION, and the wider ambition driving our transformation to become, through a staged merger through to 2028, one of the world’s leading general stationery manufacturers.

The name Astrum—derived from Latin, meaning ‘celestial body’ – symbolises guidance, inspiration, and the connection between intelligence and creativity. It represents the uniting of the PLUS Group’s stationery brands into a cohesive whole, while preserving the unique identity of each brand.

Importantly, the Pentel brand will remain in use globally without change, and other group companies, including in the UK Pentel (Stationery) Ltd., will retain their current names.
