BIC Opens Virtual Museum

Stationery giant BIC has launched a new virtual museum, offering the public digital access to its extensive contemporary art collection for the first time.

The online platform, unveiled in April 2026, features a curated selection of artworks drawn from a collection of around 250 pieces created by more than 100 artists worldwide. Visitors can explore the museum through a virtual gallery experience, moving between works that range from drawings to sculptural installations.

According to the company, the initiative aims to make its long-standing support for artistic creativity more accessible to a global audience. The collection itself has been developed over several decades and reflects how everyday objects – particularly BIC’s iconic pens – can inspire artistic expression.

“This museum is a new platform for expression for artists within the BIC community,” said Alix Dufour, Global Brand Manager for Art & Creativity. She added that the project highlights “unexpected ways our everyday products can be used,” referencing items such as the BIC Cristal and 4 Colours pens.

The virtual museum allows users to “wander” through a digital exhibition space, showcasing both established and emerging artists. The company says the move aligns with its broader mission to support creative talent and share artistic innovation with as wide an audience as possible.

The launch also reflects a growing trend toward digital cultural experiences, as organisations increasingly turn to virtual platforms to expand access beyond physical galleries.
