BIC recognised for climate change efforts

BIC renews its A- “Leadership” ranking from CDP, one of the globally recognized authorities on carbon emissions.
CDP’s ranking follows years of action to reduce BIC’s environmental footprint. Since 2009, BIC reduced energy consumption per ton of product by 12% and achieved 76% renewable electricity usage in 2019.
Furthermore, as of 2019, 96% of the company’s cardboard packaging comes from certified and/or recycled sources. Plus, air freight represented less than 1% of BIC intracompany transport.
The Leadership ranking, which BIC has received since 2015 for its response to CDP’s climate change survey, highlights the company’s effort to reduce its impact on climate and support the circular economy.
