A recent survey by Fellowes shows that 77 per cent of employees in the US and Canada want their employers to be transparent about indoor air quality (IAQ) at work.
Conducted in July 2025 among 1,507 full-time indoor workers, the survey also found that 93 per cent of respondents believe clean air helps them perform at their best, yet only 58 per cent feel their employer is taking the right steps to ensure good IAQ.
Concerns about air quality were reported by 75 per cent of respondents, highlighting a growing demand for transparency and accountability in workplace environmental health.
Fellowes recommends several steps for organisations to meet these expectations, including sharing IAQ policies, displaying air-quality monitors, providing access to real-time IAQ data, maintaining HVAC systems, and adopting air-purification solutions.
The company emphasises that clean air is increasingly viewed as a critical factor for employee wellbeing and productivity, urging employers to proactively address IAQ to instill confidence in their indoor environments.
