Henkel joins a statement of more than 150 companies urging governments around the world to align their COVID-19 economic aid and recovery efforts with the latest climate science.
Around 155 major global companies from 34 sectors are signing a statement calling for policies that will build resilience. As part of the Science Based Targets initiative, the companies urge governments to align their COVID-19 economic aid and recovery efforts with the latest climate science.
The companies also plan to support efforts to hold global temperature rise to within 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. This is in line with reaching net-zero emissions well before 2050.
Henkel’s targets were recently approved by the Science Based Initiative. By signing the statement are reaffirming that their own decisions and actions remain grounded in science. They are also calling on governments to “prioritise a faster and fairer transition from a grey to a green economy.”
