Newell Brands has awarded $175,000 in grants to 15 nonprofits nationwide through its Local Impact Grant Program (LIGP), an employee-driven initiative that allows team members to nominate and vote for charities in their communities.
The program, launched in 2019, supports organisations within 30 miles of Newell facilities that address child safety and development, education, hunger and health, or environmental needs. This year’s recipients include animal shelters, food banks, children’s hospitals, and housing programs.
To date, Newell’s LIGP has distributed more than $1 million in funding.
“This initiative goes beyond giving back,” said Christina Moylan, Newell’s Director of Corporate Philanthropy. “It empowers employees to shape how we give and strengthens our communities.”
