Newell Strong Sales

Newell Brands has reported strong sales growth during the fourth quarter.

The company’s Learn & Development division – which includes its Writing business – saw Q4 sales of $707 million. Adjusted operating profit rose 35.7% to $139 million.

Over the course of 2018, the company incurred costs primarily associated with the ongoing Accelerated Transformation Plan (ATP) of $206 million, including $90 million of restructuring costs. 2019 will also feature “significant portfolio and organisation transformation”, although the ATP will reach its completion this year.

The company expects to stabilise with an increase in margins, and a strengthening of the operational and financial performance.
