Office decor could be bad for productivity, says Fellowes

Many things are to blame for poor productivity at work – including office decor.
Attention spans are at an all-time low and social media and screen time are easy distractions. To address, this, office equipment manufacturer, Fellowes, have looked into some of the overlooked areas of poor productivity.
Something as simple as a splash of colour could make all the difference. Blues are stable and calming, green reduces eye fatigue and yellow stimulates creativity. However, if you have a physical job, red could be the colour for you.
If you are unable to make big changes to your office surroundings, there are a few smaller things you can do to your desk space. Other tips from Fellowes include adding plants and changing the lighting – particularly if there are no windows. Finally, Fellowes are backing change to your sitting routine. Long hours at a desk are bad for our health, but simple changes, such as standing while working, can help.
