Sofidel takes on smart forklift project

The Sofidel paper group will be taking on a project that aims to develop smarter systems in warehouses.
The IREAD4.0 project focuses on developing an integrated Cyber Physical System. This will monitor and automatically manage pallets and forklifts, in large warehouses used by high rotation index products.
The system is best for warehouses larger than 10000m2 with average goods handling of 1000 pallets a day. As well as being more efficient, the new system will also provide significant cost savings and more flexibility.
The system will be present in each “smart forklift”. However, it will allow for the effective implementation of a number of functionalities. Smart forklifts include an RFID reader, antennas and speed and proximity sensors.
