Staedtler launches global art competition

Staedtler has announced the launch of its Design Journey International Creative Challenge 2025, inviting artists aged 18 and over from 13 countries – including the UK, US, Germany, Japan and Brazil – to submit hand-drawn or painted artworks on the theme “Inspired by Nature.”

Participants can use a variety of mediums, including graphite and coloured pencils, felt-tip pens, watercolours, and acrylic paints. Entries are accepted from September 15 to October 15, 2025. A panel of expert jurors will select 20 winners, with an additional “Fan Favourite” prize determined by public vote.

Prizes include:

• First place: A trip to Staedtler’s headquarters in Nuremberg, Germany, for the winner and a guest, including return flights, five nights’ accommodation, and a curated programme of activities.
• Second place: A Staedtler product package valued at €500.
• Third place: A Staedtler product package valued at €250.
• Fourth to twentieth places: Staedtler product packages valued at €50 each.
• Fan Favourite: A Staedtler product package valued at €500, plus 10 personalised Staedtler product sets featuring the winner’s artwork on the packaging.

The competition is part of Staedtler’s broader Design Journey initiative, which offers creative tools, drawing courses, and inspiration for artists at all skill levels.
